Following the phenomenal success of
Elvis Payne's Reliant display in Tamworth last year at the Tamworth Heritage Weekend in which 25 Reliant vehicles turned up ranging from the Lucas Hybrid, the FW9 prototype and a 3.5 litre V8
Robin;
Tamworth Information Centre are delighted to invite us over again this year to display our vehicles.
(see Elvis Payne's Website http://www.3wheelers.com/heritage2.html
)
This year the event is on Sunday 14th September 2008 though as many Reliant vehicles dominated the whole street last year, this year they want to move us to a larger spot outside St Edithas church, Tamworth in the church square.
(Postcode for Sat Nav folks B79 7DH)
This year we are going to try and get as many different types of Reliant as possible. Everything from a 1930s to 2002 Reliant. The weekend celebrates Tamworth's history so in addition to the Reliant display you can visit things like Tamworth Castle, the town hall, Middleton Hall and see the only double-helix spiral staircase in the country at St Edithas church - all for free. Along with this are also other events in the Castle grounds.
In the first year we had 5 Reliants, last year we had 25 Reliants and this year we would like to try and get 50 Reliants. Everyone who has attended the event in the past has enjoyed it no end and said they will come again the year after.
The display starts from about 11am - 5pm though access to the Church square will be open all day so this times so you can come and go at a time that suits you if need be.
