Next job was to scrape off the oil and crud from the chassis front while the engine was still out. > |  |

Then give the chassis front a quick paint to tidy up and help preserve it. > |  |

Next job was to remove the knackered gearbox. > |  |

Next the engine was degreased > |  |
 |
then given a coat of black paint > |  |
| Fitted new thermostat, cleaned and checked clutch and fitted replacement gearbox. > |  |
New timing belt fitted while engine was out > |  |
Rocker cover is sanded down ready to paint > |  |

September 2011 > | Engine is back in and sporting a shiny red rocker cover and newly made stainless steel water pipes > |  |
All put back together and engine running again and I now have gears!! > |  |
| Now the car is back together with all its bit intact, my landlord agrees that I can now bring my SS1 to my new home so I can continue working on it, so my faithful GTE comes in useful > |  |

The electric motor worked well on the blue door, so this was all stripped ready to put into the gold door > |  |
Gold door frame wasn't too good > |  |

The blue door frame was slightly better > |  |
 |
So i decided to strip and clean that one > |  |

The frame was completely stripped and rust proofed > |  |
new studs were fitted to the bottom of the quarterlight > |  |

The frame parts were then given a coat of paint > |  |
 |
